Just as Tennessee, so Ohio is now looking at restructuring occupational licensing in the legislation if this reform is passed.

The article in states that one bill setting on the Ohio House of Rep. is House Bill 289, sponsored by Ohio Rep. Hood, R-Ashville would deregulate Cosmetology offering certification and registrations instead of licensing for hairstylists.

Rep. Hood cares more about the price of braiding/hair styling or the income a hair braider/ stylist is making than he does for the health and safety of the public. If you want to read more click here.

Hood said he believes occupational licensure creates a barrier for people attempting to enter a field requiring a license, which in turn allowed those already in business to charge more.
